It will take probably about a month to completely regrow to the length of the haircoat surrounding it. I would give him a couple days off to make sure his back isn't sore before riding him again. One thing that does help keep skin healthy and protected (especially in summer, but it works in winter too) is to smear Vaseline over the exposed skin. Be aware that it does catch a TON of dirt, so the surrounding hair will be dirt colored until you can give a bath (or it sheds out, since it's getting close to spring).





To help evade such nasty bites in the future, you could consider putting your horse out with just a fly sheet to protect him a little more, IF that is safe in your pasture and IF it's not possible to remove the bully horses.Horse hair regrowth???

Ok , you should buy a darker colour and dye it again untill you can afford to go to the hairdresser again. Use permenant dye,its not hard, get a friend to help you make sure you cover your hair evenly.The permanant colour will cover the others fully if you choose a dark shade. Dont use any semi permanant, that will just cause more dramas! To get it back to the shade of red you want the hairdresser will have to strip the colour out and use a filler then color it again.But using a dark permenant is the best thing i can think of in the mean time.Dying hair+regrowth?
Bleaching out your hair to remove the black is going to be very hard on your hair.. you can try bringing it up gradually by adding highlights to your current hair color. Another thing would be to get some sun .. the sun will fade the black and lighten it up (try squeezing lemon juice on your hair before sunning)

Trichotillomania (hair pulling)

Experienced and trained clinicians can distinguish anagen hairs, which have sheaths attached to their roots, from telogen hairs which have no sheaths and have tiny bulbs at their roots. Other methods are biopsy of the scalp, physical examination and blood tests to detect any underlying metabolic, infectious, or inflammatory condition that could be causing secondary hair loss.








Natural Treatments for Hair Loss





One of the most effective conventional approaches to male pattern hair loss is the drug minoxidil. Interest in minoxidil began with the observation that the oral form of this drug, which dilates blood vessels and is taken for high blood pressure, caused hair regrowth and partially reversed baldness in some men. For baldness, a topical form of minoxidil (Regaine or Rogaine) is applied to areas of hair loss. But less than 10% of men taking it achieve satisfactory results.

Folic acid, biotin, vitamin B5, para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), and silica are supplements that may help maintain the color and thickness of hair.





Be sure to check your daily intake of zinc through supplements. Intake of 30 mg or higher for more than three months can induce a deficiency of copper, and low copper levels can result in hair loss. Speak to a health practitioner before supplementing copper to avoid copper overdose.





Aromatherapy


The results of one research study suggest that the essential oils of thyme, rosemary, lavender, and cedarwood mixed with an oil and applied on the areas of hair loss may stimulate hair growth. This double blind, placebo-controlled study enrolled 84 people who who massaged either these essential oils or a non-treatment oil into their scalps each night for seven months. Results showed that 44% of people in the treatment group had new hair growth compared to only 15% in the control group.





Hair Oil Recipe





3 drops of essential oil of thyme





3 drops of essential oil of lavender





3 drops of essential oil of rosemary





3 drops of essential oil of cedarwood





1/8 cup of grapeseed oil





1/8 cup of jojoba oil





Mix the ingredients together. Cover your pillow with an old towel. Apply several drops of the mixture to areas of hair loss each night, massaging gently into scalp for 3-5 minutes. Store the oil tightly covered. Do not take internally or near the eye area.





Ayurveda


Bhringaraj oil or brahmi oil are applied to the scalp regularly to stimulate hair growth. The Ayurvedic herbs ashwagandha and amla are also reported to stimulate hair growth.





Traditional Chinese Medicine


In traditional Chinese medicine, hair loss is linked to kidney deficiency syndrome. Other symptoms of kidney deficiency are weakness and fatigue and low back weakness. Kidney energy is believed to naturally decline with age, but people with early or accelerated hair loss may have particularly weak kidney energy. Kidney tonics are usually recommended.

Not a question really - but I get really annoyed when people say hair grows back thicker when shaved. IT DOESN'T !! What happens is it grows back with a blunt end rather than a tapered natural end. If it grew back thicker - can you imagine what men's faces would look like after just one year of shaving never mind 50 years !

It really does grow back thicker tho - I have blonde hair and can be a testament of this!





I am waiting to get my first wax done and so I've been growing out my leg hairs. They are long enough that I can see more than just the blunt end that you speak of. I can also see that they really are thicker and in fact darker!!





There are some blond hairs further up my leg that I've never shaved because they don't see the sun that often and are practically invisble - and they are still as light and soft as the ones I've been shaving once were!





Another example: there are some hairs on my very lower belly - right above my pubic area that when I was younger and wanted to be hair free for my bf I shaved. Since then its no longer been a question and I have to shave them because they too have begun growing in darker and thicker then the rest of my blonde hairs. The same can be said if you shave too low - a lil past your ankles and you can start growing thicker hairs at the top of your feet.





In short: maybe its different or harder to notice with people who have dark hair already, but with continuous shaving of my hairs (everywhere for that matter) they are NOTICABLY darker, quicker to grow back and most importantly - thicker!!





Also: another example would be men who shave their heads. Ask any male who shaves their head and they will tell you that it has definately started to grow back in thicker. Many parents I know tell me that they had to stop shaving their kids hair because it would no longer grow in nice and soft!!





AND: as for the men's face thing? They definately do grow in thicker - for one thing, many young men desperate to grow facial hair will start shaving the thin hairs that they have because it stimulates thicker ones to grow back. On the flip side, men who don't want to be bothered with a 5 o'clock shadow make it a point to only shave when necessary - they too have noticed that the more they shave the more they have too.





I know that there are a lot of myths out there - but know that I base all of my answers on events that have happened to me personally! Again: maybe its different for different people, but in my case hairs DO grow back thicker when shaved.

I think this myth is perpetuated by companies selling waxing products. They would all like us to think that the easy solution, shaving, is bad for us!
But a blunt end is thicker than a tapered end which is why some would say that, ok so it's not a lot thicker and it doesn't continue to get thicker and thicker etc after each shave but the mid section of hair is thicker than the ned which is why it feels rougher, and once the end is sliced off from shaving that hair growing through is actually much coarser.

the hair will grow back a little thinner, but it honestly depends on the type of hair you have. People with thinner, finer, blondish hair will find it grows back a lot slower and thinner. People with thicker, coarser hair will not see the results of the thinning hair as quickly. The most important thing to remember is that you will need to exfoliate your legs everyday to avoid ingrown hairs. You don't want dead skin cells filling up the empty follicle. Also waxing works best when on a cycle. Your hair has different growth rates, and it will take a few waxing sessions to get your legs and hair follicles get used to it. But if you can tough it out, you will be amazed at the results. Over time hair does grow thinner and grows back a lot slower. You also want to be sure to go to a good Aesthetician, who has a good reputation for waxing. Waxing can be very scary if the person hasn't been trained well, or simply doesn't know or like what they are doing. ( A lot of Aestheticians do not like to wax...avoid these people, they usually don't know what they are doing too well because they are simply not interested in it.) Also if you are taking any blood thinners,( or about to start your period, for the ladies...)you will want to avoid waxing because the chances of pulling up skin is a lot greater. Also you can take an Ibuprofin before you go in and it helps a little. The key to the pain..is to make sure your waxer is holding your skin tightly, leaving no room for looseness when she pulls the strip. with shaving, you're cutting off the visible hair that grows back, eventually, thicker. this has been proven. when you wax hair, the hair grows back but thinner, until eventually your hair follicles don't bother reproducing. this has been proven. that's why i wax my legs every four weeks without delay :) and granted, it is time consuming, but having professionals do it is so much nicer--i've made messes that i dn't care to remember.

The only medically proven chemical to restore hair loss is Minoxidil which you can get in a liquid form which you either massage into the effected areas or spray on. There is a pill form which is even better at encouraging hair regrowth which you can get from your G.P. I don't know which country you are in but Minoxidil is available in most countries. The effects can take a long time to appear if at all but usually after a year of use you should see new hair. It is a treatment you will have to continue using though. In England the cost is approx 20-30 pounds a month but i believe prices are dropping as more and more companies produce their own versions (Amoxilin is another name used) Like Loreal Vichy etc. Your doctor can give you more information on this. I am sorry but i do not know much about the effects on hair growth from entrometreosis.

Well it is like baby fine hair on a newborn. Yes, it will appear fuzzy and frizzy. There are actually products out there for the ';frizzes.'; You wouldn't be insulted if I gave you a few names would you? I mean most of these are for women, but who the heck said they had to be! Your friend should seek a professional opinion regarding their hair loss, it is highly unlikely this is caused by dandruff. There are options to further reduce hair loss and to stimulate regrowth that they could explore but they need to find out the cause first.

I lost half of my hair due to radiation txs for Hodgkin's when i was 15. When it came back in it was curly! The top part of my hair was straight, and if you can imagine a horizontal life from ear to ear--that was curly--finally after about a year, it started growing in straight--I kept it very shirt until then so I didn't look odd.





I just lost my hair the past couple of weeks due to chemo for breast cancer (I'm 39 now)--and while I'm gray now, I expect it will come back gray--and possibly curly again--may people have what are called chemo curls for a couple of years before the hair reverts back to it's prior texture (for lack of a better word--straight if that was the case I suppose).





So, in short--yes it can come back in different colors and or textures, but it is usually temporary.
Well my mom had the same thing, her hair grew back full thick and brown. It just depends on your genetics. The only way to really change the hair color you get once it grows back is to color it and my mom did this as well.

I had a very bad experience with these and was wondering if anyone had been through something similar in regard to hairloss due to extensions. Mine seems as though it is slowly recovering but I am 20 years old and wonder how long it will truly take to get back to the way that it was. The outer layer of my hair was basically unnaffected (aside from the ends) while the inner layers are now short and rather sparse. I do not have any bald spots. I was wondering if someone went through something similar and how long it tooked for them to notice that their hair was recovering. Did you eventually get your texture back? If your hair is falling out after extensions its probably due to the way they were put in, if they were sewn in the tracks were too tight and if glued it may be an allergic reaction. Whatever the case a gentle shampoo (something for colored hair is the best.) and a weekly cholesterol treatment will work miracles, if you can't find cholesterol mayo is the home remedy. After shampooing your hair apply the cholesterol(or mayo) and put a plastic shower cap over it, let it set for thirty to forty-five minutes then rinse (*if you use mayo you will want to lightly shampoo after as well as before.) Your hair will improve within weeks and you should see length differences within a month. Vitamins do help, but try not to wash your hair every day (this strips your hair of the natural vitamins it is already supplied.) ***Pantene of any kind is not a good idea, it has high alcohol agents which dry out your hair and cause it to break, also stay away from citrus products which do the same thing. Hair extensions are terrible if you get cheap european/indian hair. I had them for prom and that was IT! They itch ... are terrible to wash ... and come loose if you brush too hair (mine were sew in). I hair problems for the past four years b/c I dyed it too much. Dying my hair left me with anything but beautiful results. My hair started breaking off, drying up, and getting gum like if I would dye it again. My suggestion to you is to get regular trims every eight weeks. I've been doing it for over six months and I have beautiful healthy hair again. I have almost all of my natural color back too.





You also should do a deep conditioning treatment everyday. Pantene Restoratives will help you out with that. The one I use is designed to repair two years of damage in one month. It really works.

hey! My uncle's used it, and so has my aunt. loool. My uncle has waaaaaaaaaay more hair after he used this product. But, when he stopped using it, everything just fell out again. For the answer to the question, the %'s should be on the label. It is FDA regulated, the % of the active ingredient have to be on the label. So there may not be any truth to that claim, unless maybe one is extra strength. If you can't tell by the labels, ask the pharmacist.

well, their is a shampoo %26amp; stuff called nioxin its suppose to help hair grown in thicker, you could try that..when u wash your hair try massaging your scalp with your fingertips for a few minutes.%26amp; a nutritional diet helps. i would hope you have went to the doctor, and w.e the problem was is resolved. good luck.

dont wear your hair in a pony so much, and if you do, do it loose. you need to get a shampoo that will maek your hair stronger, your hair dresser would be able to reccomend one. also, try not to use so many products or equipment on your hair [[hair spray, gel, moose, flat irons, blow dryers, etc.]] they will damage your hair more if your hair is not healthy to begin with. you may want to see a doctor or therapist if you're stressed to the point your hair is thinning. good luck
